Proprietary Plant DNA, the new Big Brother?
Proprietary Plant DNA can, and is being used to identify many, and soon to be everything you own.
A US-based biotech firm, Applied DNA Sciences makes plant DNA that can be used as an identifier for just about any product or item manufactured.
To make the tailored DNA, APDNAS chops up plant DNA and rearranges it, creating unique and easily identifiable DNA “markers”.
The tailored DNA is then stabilized and added to the product. It can survive unaltered for up to 350 years. Because the tailored plant DNA has been rearranged, each batch is unique.
It is especially useful in dye used to mark money during a bank robbery. The adapted plant DNA, called SigNature®, is added to the dye, so the cash, criminals and anything else the dye touches are coated in it. Long strands of plant DNA are very difficult to remove. Even after strong solvents are used to remove the dye, the DNA remains, allowing suspects to be linked directly to the crime scene.
Police scan suspects’ items and locations they have been, using hand held detectors. If DNA is seen, it is extracted and analyzed to confirm it matches the marker in the dye.
Imagine the uses an oppressive government would have for such a product. Wonder if our oppressive government is using it? I do. Commercial companies are buying this up like there is no tomorrow. You can bet the US government is using our own tax money to purchase this, and use it against us.
I can imagine the uses the anti-gun crowd would have for this. Especially since hand held scanners can do a precursor check for this DNA and that can be used a probable cause to confiscate an item for further testing. Imagine a day when all ammo must be registered. You have a bunch of ammo not registered. You can bet that all registered ammo will have this DNA marker on it and your non DNA labeled ammo will be subject to confiscation and you may even be charged with a criminal offense.

Signature® DNA Markers
SigNature DNA uses the DNA from plants to mark and authenticate products in a unique manner that essentially cannot be copied.Patented and proprietary, SigNature® DNA:
Will not alter the quality of the product
Will not require major changes to the manufacturing process or logistic chain
Is stable and persistent
Is instantly detectable with a hand-held device
Can be forensically authenticated in the labSigNature DNA is a unique and powerful means to authenticate originality. It’s truly versatile and stable. We’ve prototyped and tested SigNature DNA in many different types and forms of ink, varnish, adhesives and textile treatments.
For example, you can apply it in:
• Cash Degradation Inks
- AzSure with SigNature DNA
- Other inks• Security Inks
- Overt inks (visible)
- Covert inks (invisible)
- Machine readable inks
- Ultraviolet inks
- Thermochromic
- Intaglio ink• Conventional Inks and Ribbons
- Thermal Transfer
- Laser
- InkJet• Compatible with flexography, offset printing, roto gravure.
• Textile treatments and binding agents
• Adhesives, varnishes, and many more.
SigNature DNA markers provide definitive, forensic proof of authentication since DNA is well accepted by courts globally.
Below are some news releases you might be interested in. A few of them I added more details. This will give you an idea of the scope of this product, and with a little thought, you can see how this can be used as a tracking tool by an oppressive government. Note the Dept of Homeland Security releases.
To shorten each release I will only use the Applied DNA Sciences name on the first one. All of these and the ones I omitted can be found as PDFs on their site.

-Files Patent for SigNature DNA in Cyanoacrylate
to Add Forensic Layer of Anti-Counterfeit Security
SigNature DNA-cyanoacrylate can be applied to virtually any item surface or even
absorbed into porous and semi-porous materials like ceramics as well as non-porous
materials like metal, glass and plastic.
Setting a Forensic Evidence Trail
Cyanoacrylate is frequently used as a forensic tool to capture latent fingerprints on non-
porous surfaces such as glass or plastic. Despite its commercial ubiquity and use in
crime labs, until now, cyanoacrylate solutions have rarely been used for security marking
and authentication purposes.
Together, SigNature DNA-cyanoacrylate provides a powerful system that can be used to
link DNA-marked evidence at a crime scene to the criminal. It’s the ultimate tool to
ensure the safety of a wide range of electronic and electrical components, often used in
products ranging from laptops and mobile phones to motor vehicles and aircraft. By
incorporating SigNature DNA-cyanoacrylate into the existing manufacturing process, any
product or package can be further securitized with a forensic layer of anti-counterfeiting
protection.

-Identifies Genetic Fingerprint in Money
(APDN’s unique GenoTyping platform has recently been used by the textile industry
(“FiberTyping™”) to verify label compliance with federal law and with trademark licenses.
In collaboration with Supima, the trade group representing American pima cotton
growers, APDN demonstrated that the genetic provenance of cotton fibers is traceable in
any finished product, even after multiple washings.
Within the Cash-in-Transit industry, APDN provides genetic authentication to track cash
stolen from ATM machines or during transport. Working with the UK Police and Loomis,
APDN is able to verify the origin of recovered stolen cash and to link the stolen cash to
criminals and to the point of theft. As with textiles, multiple washings do not remove the
DNA from currency. Extending its FiberTyping platform to money, APDN has now
shown it can verify the genetic content of the natural fiber in cash.
US currency is made up of 75% cotton and 25% linen (Bureau of Engraving and
Printing). Many foreign currencies are printed also on natural fiber-based paper,
including the Euro, Mexican Peso, Brazilian Cruzeiro, Argentine Peso, Indian Rupee,
British Pound, Russian Ruble, Japanese Yen and numerous other paper currencies. )

our SigNature™ DNA Markers can be detected by APDN or a customer in a simple spot
test. The instant detection device being developed using the molecular beacons
technology, will provide an alternate simple, instant on-site authentication test which can
detect SigNature™ DNA Markers in a range of different media, including but not limited
to ink, thread, and adhesives. For forensic authentication, a sample taken from the
product or other item can be analyzed using our proprietary primers and PCR
technology to obtain definitive proof of the presence or absence of a SigNature™ DNA
Marker.)

[...] is no GPS tracking device but a simple code embedded in a plant. An elite label is now going to use plant DNA in its products to make them distinctly unique. All that the law enforcement agencies would need [...]
Our major issue in this country is our two political parties. Our forefathers knew that a two party system would be our downfall and took steps to try to stop this type of politics, and thus anyone who seriously thinks that politics isn’t corrupt or slaves to Corporate America hasn’t not been paying attention. George Jr. will go down in History as one of the worst administrations in history and I could go on for hours showing why, but my point is that the Obama administration has offered nothing different (besides health reform, granted) and has in fact continued nearly every single Bush program. Obama has almost the same political donors and thus has the same pressures as Bush did. Health reform will turn out to be the most expensive and destructive waste of tax payer money ever. I just wish I could offer a better alternative for other frustrated people, but I can’t and those that think that the tea partiers are the future, remember that Sarah Palin is an important figure to them.
